Do you want to become an active member of the Peace and Freedom Party? Did you miss the chance to run for PFP Central Committee in the March 3, 2020 primary? You can still join or start an affiliated organization in your area.

We have active central committees in about 15 counties, including the major metropolitan centers and a few rural counties. In each of these counties, the local central committees welcome people who want to work to promote the issues and candidates of our party.

Anyone who is legally permitted to vote must be registered in the Peace and Freedom Party to become a central committee member. We can also appoint people to central committees who are unable to vote due to age, citizenship, or parole status.

Why become a PFP County Central Committee Member?
There are at least two great reasons why you should become a member of your Peace and Freedom Party (PFP) County Central Committee. As an elected member of your county’s Central Committee you will have a vote in deciding who will be our Presidential candidate for the 2020 Presidential Election. Every elected County Central Committee member is automatically a member of the State Central Committee and becomes an official delegate to our Presidential Nominating Convention in August 2020.

Also, as an elected member of your County Central Committee you can be a Peace and Freedom Party activist in your area, help decide on local PFP events and issues, participate in local actions, and help your county become a better place for everyone. And as a member of the State Central Committee you can help shape the actions and direction of the Peace and Freedom Party.

How to become a candidate

The Peace and Freedom Party has fought for working people in the streets, at the ballot box and in the halls of government for over 40 years.

We recognize that many people who support our work are not able to become active themselves. The supporting membership program is a way for everyone who supports our platform and candidates to contribute to socialist electoral action.

Let’s face it: We can’t fight for working people at the ballot box (or anywhere else) without spending money. We don’t represent the owners of the businesses that pay for and control, directly and indirectly, the major political parties. The capitalists are not going to help us – not one cent.

We need your help to stand up for working people in Election 2020 and beyond.
