Honorable Senator Scott Weiner

1021 O Street, Suite 8620

Sacramento, CA 95814

Subject: SB 1004 (Weiner): Law enforcement; masks. Support.

Dear Senator Weiner,

The Peace and Freedom party of California supports this common sense measure to reestablish public trust in law enforcement officers by restricting the use of face masks by police officers in the performance of their duties. All California law enforcement agencies will be required to have, and publically post, policies on the use of facial coverings. We recognize that this measure provides some exemptions where facial coverings are absolutely necessary for health and safely reasons.

The current use of facial coverings by some police officers has resulted in well documented abuse of power incidents. That is the unsurprising result of the anonymity and loss of personal responsibility facial covering can provide.

We are pleased to note that this bill applies to sworn officers from all law enforcement agencies in California, and to officers from other states and the federal government while operating in California.

For these and other reasons we support SB 1004 and urge all legislators to vote for this bill. To learn more, please contact me at 916-207-4595 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

In California, voter registration is very important to political parties. The very existence of a political party as “ballot-qualified” is determined by the number of votes its statewide candidates receive or by the number of voters registered with the party. As the only feminist socialist political party on the California ballot, it is imperative that the Peace and Freedom Party continues as a qualified party.

Quite simply, the Peace and Freedom Party will not be able to provide Californians with candidates that will represent us unless we register and vote Peace and Freedom.

For all the information you need on registering to vote, visit the California Secretary of State's homepage at SOS.Ca.gov or just click here.

Thank you for registering Peace and freedom Party, and thank you for your vote!
