Please participate in campaigns, demonstrations, and actions to stop the aggression against Venezuela. It is not necessary to approve of the Venezuelan government to oppose attacking it and its people.
We urge Peace and Freedom Party members and supporters, and all other people who favor peace, decency, and adherence to international law, to join in the demand that U.S. forces be withdrawn from Venezuela and the Venezuelan people be left free of foreign domination. U.S. government officials have already admitted that CIA forces and other "clandestine" warfare groups have been operating within Venezuela, and the recent movement of large naval forces to the area appears to signal an intent to invade.
The people of Venezuela need many things. Foreign military intervention is not one of them. Whatever problems Venezuela may have, a US invasion can only make them worse.
The "clandestine" acts of war already constitute aggression, illegal under international law. The blowing up of boats, with the clearly false excuse that they are somehow running drugs to the USA, is a crime. Further military action will be war crimes. "I was just following orders" is not an acceptable excuse for officers who are obligated to refuse illegal orders.
It is important for everyone to understand that all of the excuses and "reasons" provided by U.S. government propagandists are false. The real reason is an old one, a desire by billionaires to steal Venezuelan oil and other resources and labor. Everything else is a smokescreen. It is particularly grimly humorous for the liars who have been inventing absurd stories about U.S. elections to base some of their propaganda on allegations about Venezuelan elections.
