On January 19, 2026, thousands marched the six miles in the cold as fog filled the air from Sacramento City College to the Convention Center. During the march, petition gatherers wearing black T-shirts that read "Vote Socialist California" collected signatures-in-lieu of filing fees for five statewide and one Sacramento candidates. They are Ramsey Robinson for Governor, Alice Stek for Lieutenant Governor, Meghann Adams for State Controller, Eduardo "Lalo" Vargas for Insurance Commissioner, Frank Lara for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Linda Roberts for State Senate District 8. At the end of the march was the Peace and Freedom Party table, where more signatures were being collected. Meghann Adams, the Peace and Freedom Party candidate for State Controller, joined our tabling crew. People gathered around the table as they moved from petition to petition, each signature a step closer to putting working class candidates on the ballot.

In California, voter registration is very important to political parties. The very existence of a political party as “ballot-qualified” is determined by the number of votes its statewide candidates receive or by the number of voters registered with the party. As the only feminist socialist political party on the California ballot, it is imperative that the Peace and Freedom Party continues as a qualified party.

Quite simply, the Peace and Freedom Party will not be able to provide Californians with candidates that will represent us unless we register and vote Peace and Freedom.

For all the information you need on registering to vote, visit the California Secretary of State's homepage at SOS.Ca.gov or just click here.

Thank you for registering Peace and freedom Party, and thank you for your vote!
